Google fear factor
Google has done it again recently and this time it seems that PPP bloggers are the hardest hit.
Many PPP blogs have their PageRank reduced to zero. Has Google created the fear factor in us? It may for some but not for all.I have dedicated this blog for paid blogging. I have the disclosure on my blog and am now waiting for my blog to turn 90 days old so that I can registered with Pay Per Post. They have turned me down once because my blog has not fully grown up yet. Whether I have been penalised by Google for dedicating this blog for Pay Per Post, I can’t tell. My blog is two months old now but since it was not approved by Pay Per Post, I do not have any paid posts on my blog yet. But despite all my effort to boost up my PR, it just did not seem to move at all. It remained at zero from day one until now even though my Alexa ranking has improved quite a bit. My two other blogs which were quite as new has a PR1 each. Did this blog suffered from the Google slap? I guess it did.
No matter how, I was determined not to let the Google fear factor destroy my objectives for this blog. Advertisers for paid posts do consider PR as a criteria for selecting the posties. With a PR0, I may not even get an offer. Well I will worry about that when my blog gets its approval from Pay Per Post. I have to be patient for another month before I can re-submit my application.
It is good that Izea (Pay Per Post’s new identity) is coming up with its own PR called RealRanker. If PPP is going to drop Google’s PR from its criteria list and use their own RealRanker, then who cares about Google’s PR0? I don’t even care if it is a negative. But having said that, how reliable is RealRanker in its PR? This is yet to be seen. RealRanker gives a 7 for this blog. But my other blog which has a Google’s PR1 is given a PR1 by RealRanker. Obviously my other blog has more traffic, page views and inbound links, but it beats me why RealRanker ranks it lower. All being said, it is for you to judge whether RealRanker is accurate in its ranking.

Unless you are going to totally ignore Google I think that not using nofollow on ads and or text-links and using RealRank is like painting a target on your back for Google to de-list a site. It makes their job so much easier to find the “offending” sites.
mine from pr 3 to zero. *sighs
with izea real rank until now I dont understand it -forgive me for my slowness. It fluctuates daily, is supposed to be that way they say. but what doe it mean to have an RR of 400 to 1500?
Ronnie,
According to Izea, they break the rank into 10 groups ie 1 to 9 instead of having a range of 1 to n (an unlimited number). The advertisers for PPP can select the RR that they wanted which is from 1 to 9 just like the PR. If they select 9 they are actually excluding 90% of the marketplace and only allows the top 10% into the opportunity. So a RR is actually a percentage of the network to exclude.
my blog went from 4 to 2 and after a while it went to 0. thx to google. ppp real rank will still need some time to be accepted. let´s hop the best and never give up !!! go form some paid posts !!!
My blog is well over 3mths old and pay per post won’t accept it,for paid posts.I have to just be an affiliate instead.
Why do people fear google they are not the only search engine.
What google are doing in my opinion is illegal and they are monopilzing the SE industry just as microsoft did with windows.
If you believe google are penalizung sites for selling links because they want to protect their search results then your in cloud cuckoo land.
They are doing it for 1 reason and 1 reason only. Link buying and selling is a multi, multi, multi million pound a year business and they want your money in their adsense program purely and simply no ifs or buts that is the REAL reason they are doing what they are doing.
Until we as webmasters stand up to them and stop using their services they will continue to get away with it.
